Welcome Father Christian Amogu, our new Assoicate Pastor!
Fr. Christian was born and raised in Awka, Nigeria. It was also there he had all his priestly formation. He completed a four-year Bachelor’s degree program in Philosophy at Bigard Memorial Seminary Ikot-Ekpene, an affiliate of Pontifical Urban University, Rome (now St Joseph’s Major Seminary, Ikot-Ekpene).
After a year internship, he was sent to Bigard Memorial Seminary, Enugu (an affiliate of Pontifical Urban University Rome) for an additional four years of Theological studies which ended in June 1991 with a Bachelor’s degree in Divinity. And to the glory of God, Christian was ordained to the Priesthood in August 17, 1991.
Soon after his priestly ordination, he was appointed the spiritual director at St John Bosco Junior Seminary, Isuaniocha, Awka. Next, he was sent to Rome for further studies. He has a doctorate in Spirituality from the Pontifical University of St Thomas Aquinas- Angelicum in Rome.
He spent twenty-two years of his priestly life in the formation of future priests and considers his role as a seminary formator to be one of the highlights of his experiences and major contribution to the Church and humanity.
Father Christian Amogu, also taught at Pope John Paul II Major Seminary, Awka- Nigeria, and he has had many other pastoral assignments in his home diocese. He has also worked in many parishes in Germany, Italy, and the United States of America. In Canada, he has been the Associate Pastor at Corpus Christi parish, Windsor, and has been with the Heritage Catholic Family of Parishes, also in Windsor, before joining the West Middlesex Catholic Family of Parishes.
